Isidore the Younger

Isidore the Younger
Nephew of Isidore of Miletus (q.v.) who rebuilt the dome of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople (qq.v.) after it collapsed in 558, raising the height of the original dome by about seven meters. Although subsequently damaged (in 989 and in 1346) and repaired, essentially it is Isidore's dome that visitors to Hagia Sophia view today.
